How it Works

FREEMED assists clients with information and paperwork to access over 400 pharmaceutical companies’ programs offering more than 4,383 drugs and dosages. Patient Assistance Programs are intended to provide maintenance medication for people suffering chronic or long-term illnesses.

The client calls FREEMED at (208) 528 6337 for an application and gathers personal, income, physician, and medication information before their enrollment interview.

Once the client is considered eligible with respect to income and other factors, forms for the appropriate Pharmaceutical Patient Assistance Program are filled out for each medication.  These are sent to the physician for a signature and then sent on to the Patient Assistance Program with supporting documents.  In 4-6 weeks, a 90 or 120-day supply of their medications will be sent to the physician’s office or to the client’s home, depending on the assistance program’s policies.

The client should call FREEMED for refills 5-6 weeks before the medication is depleted.  The client is never without medication when refills are done in a timely fashion.
